2 Timothy 1:7: For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

The Governor of Florida, Ron Desantis, made an announcement this week requesting that mass gatherings be postponed while our state and world deal with the current crisis surrounding Coronavirus.

In the upcoming weeks outside of government directives, some churches will decide to shut down or go online. Others will continue to meet if they’re allowed.  I’ve seen some organizations close. Others stay open. And both are options.

Our Ministry Leadership Team met to discuss the issues and has concluded that is both wise and loving to temporarily suspend all in-person Sanctuary Church gatherings, services and ministries for the next 2 weeks, effective immediately.

Church is still happening even though our physical location is closed! In times like these, we are so grateful for our interactive online church experience.

During this temporary suspension, we will use our online resource for a time of prayer, worship and Word at 9:00 am on Sunday Mornings.  Also, our online Bible Study series, “Praying with Paul” will continue, Wednesdays as scheduled.  Please visit to connect to all online services.

For easy access to our Sunday Service at 9:00 am use the informatrion below:

As our nation and global communities discuss how to best deal with (and help prevent) the spread of this virus, here are best practices TSC members are embracing:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home when you are sick
  • Cover your coughs/sneezes with tissue or arm
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water (for at least 20 seconds – the length of saying the Alphabet)
  • If no soap and water is available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60%-95% alcohol

Church, even as we exercise wisdom in keeping ourselves and our loved ones safe, we know that divine health and protection is from our Lord Jesus. As followers of Jesus, we choose love over fear – perfect love drives out fear. We pray for those who have already been affected, their families, caregivers, and medical professionals working tirelessly to respond. We exercise caution so we can continue to represent Jesus and share the gospel with compassion and care.

Let’s continue to pray and proclaim His promise of protection in Psalm 91 over ourselves, our families and those affected by this. Let us also pray that the virus will be contained and conquered.

Psalm 91:9–10: Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.

His Servant,

Pastor David Mobley
